Overview
This questionnaire aims to assess the degree of disability across all four language modalities—listening, speaking, reading, and writing—based on the patient’s input. We are particularly interested in understanding how these difficulties intrude on the patients’ daily life, influence their self-image, and affect their overall quality of life.
By collecting both quantitative data and qualitative information, the QLQ aim to offer a holistic view of patients’ experience. This will help the Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) formulate personalized intervention plans that focus on improving functional abilities and enhancing quality of life. This ensures that the therapy provided is tailored to address the specific challenges a patient is facing.
Uses
This questionnaire is designed to be used with adult Arabic speakers following a brain injury to assess the impact of the speech and language disorders on their quality of life in various domains.
The content of the questionnaire questions include direct reference to the Arab culture, and therefore some of the terms used may not be suitable for patients from other cultures.
